With 'Frozen Halls,' the Bremen-based death metal band SOUL GRINDER presents its third full-length album--and a real heavyweight at that. In recent years, the band has established itself as a fixture in the German death metal scene, not least through countless club and festival shows, and has been more than just an 'insider tip' since its previous album, if not before.



With their latest album, the trio picks up exactly where they left off with 'Anthems From The Abyss': uncompromising death metal, from blast speed attacks and groovy steamrollers to mystical hymns. Thematically, Frozen Hall is largely about fictional horror stories à la H.P. Lovecraft, dealing with darkness, fears, nightmares, and death. But social, causal themes such as self-reflection on one's own existence or the cruelty of human nature are also reflected in the lyrics.



For the song 'Malevolent Reality,' they also enlisted the support of Asenblut frontman Tetzel. But even without this prominent support, 'Frozen Halls' is undoubtedly a milestone in the band's history to date and a real treat for the ears of all fans of the genre.
